VIRTUALIZATION

Computer hardware virtualization (or hardware virtualization) is the virtualization of computers and/or operating systems. It hides the physical characteristics of a computing platform from users, instead showing another abstract computing platform. At its origins, the software that controlled virtualization was called a ‘control program ‘, but currently the terms ‘hypervisor’ or ‘virtual machine monitor’ are preferred.
Virtualization can provide cost savings through a number of different avenues. Utility costs, hardware expenses, upgrade and administrative expenses, and faster disaster recovery abilities.
Virtualization can also reduce downtime and increase hardware utilization from 5-10% up to 70-80%. Replication of virtual machines can enhance the disaster recovery process and reduce management as support costs.
Blue Byte Technology Solutions can recommend, spec, provide, install and maintain VMWare virtual environments.
